St. James Episcopal Church, 3750 E. Douglas Box meal picnic outdoors. Bring your own chair or blanket. (Rain date: September 20)
Saturday, October 10, 10:00 AM – Where do I find new music? Or even tried and true literature?
Zoom presentation by Christopher Shaw, organist at Plymouth Congregational Church, Wichita. Highlights include public domain, subscription services, publisher websites, and a new database on our website for members to contribute their own tried and true pieces that they use regularly.
Saturday, November 14, 10:00 AM– Educational program: Lynne Davis’ organ pedagogy class demonstrating organ registration and how to adapt to various organs. The class will prepare a video for us to watch individually or in groups. The students will then meet with us on Zoom to answer questions and add comments about their project.
December – “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” Chapter members are invited to record and submit a favorite carol and/or music based on the carol. Videos will be posted each day from December 26-Jan. 6. Zoom program on practice tips presented by Michael Bauer Professor, Organ and Church Music at the University of Kansas
February (date to be announced)–Presentation of the new Berghaus organ at Blessed Sacrament with members of the Berghaus company and Patrick Harms
March 6-7– Wichita Chapter organ scholarship auditions in Hutchinson and Wichita
April 20, 2021, 7:30 pPM- Brett Valliant & Tate Addis, organ
25th Anniversary RBOS Gala – postponed from 2020. Our chapter will help host a reception.
