The Dean’s Message

Dear AGO Colleagues and Friends,

Welcome to the 71st season of the Wichita Chapter of American Guild of Organists. After a wonderful celebration of 70 years, we now move forward to serve our members with fellowship, education, and inspiration as we try to meet the needs of our members and our profession. The program committee has planned a variety of events for our members beginning on September 15. Please see the program year calendar for details. It would be wonderful to spend time together at this social event and to get acquainted and re-acquainted with each other.

After sponsoring a Pipe Organ Encounter in June 2023 which drew nearly 20 young organists to WSU to learn more about the pipe organ and to play various instruments around the city, our chapter continues to focus on programs and events for upcoming musicians who are the future of AGO. This season’s events for youth are detailed in our calendar, and you are encouraged to invite young musicians to participate. Our 2024-25 yearbook will be available at the meeting on September 15, and I hope you will be able to pick yours up then. It’s full of lots of information for the coming season. Tyler Breneman and I are sharing the Dean position this season, and I look forward to working together. Please watch for his columns in some of the upcoming Clarions.

Wishing you well,

Marlene Hallstrom, CAGO
