Kathy’s Message

Dear Chapter Members and Friends:

Join us for the 2018-19 opening meeting on Sunday evening, September 16, 2018 at St. James Episcopal Church.  See this newsletter for details.

Enthusiasm, dedication, and passion are some of the adjectives that describe the 2018 AGO national convention in Kansas City.  From the friendly greeting at Registration by Debbie Lynch and her helpers to the spectacular Closing Ceremony in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center the variety of available activities was amazing.  It was great to meet fellow Chapter members in the convention center and to enjoy recitals together.  Julie Irene Kauffman received the President’s Award in person.  We cheered fortissimo for the Kauffman contribution of the Performing Arts Center and in particular the magnificent Casavant Organ.

Our Chapter provided support for the semifinal round of the National Young Artists Competition prior to the convention with practice sites, transportation, monitors, and attendance at the competition at WSU.  The semifinalists were an impressive group of dedicated young organists.

Seth Bott gave a Master Class in addition to his recital on June 25.  We wish him the best in his career.

Please participate in this year’s Chapter activities and organ events as much as you are able.  Your generous support is very much appreciated.

Kathleen Fehrmann, Chapter Dean
