Meet the Executive Committee: Nickolas Carlson

Meet the Executive Committee: Nickolas Carlson, Class of 2016.

Editor (E): Do you currently serve as an organist/music director in Wichita? If so, where and how long? And do you have any other jobs?
Nickolas (N): I am the organist/accompanist at Westwood Presbyterian church. I am also the Orchestral graduate assistant at WSU, where I am an Orchestral Conducting student.

E: What was your educational experience?
N: I received a BM in Organ Performance with a minor in sacred music from Bethany College under Melody Steed. I am currently working on a MM degree in Orchestral Conducting and getting my public education licensure from WSU.

E: In your current role on the board, what would you like to see the Chapter do this year?
N: I would like to see the chapter grow and become more visible to the community. I think we are already on the right track.

E: What is one of your best memories of a Wichita Chapter AGO event?
N: One of my favorite memories is competing in the Quimby Young Artists competition and playing for two of our current members as judges as well as meeting Carrol Hassman, Lynne Davis, and Patrick Harms.
