Dear AGO Friends,
I am writing my January message on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. In a few hours, I will be rehearsing with soloists and members of a string quartet who are providing music for the two Christmas Eve services at Gloria Dei Lutheran. The musicians and clergy have all worked hard to abide by COVID-safety guidelines. Who could have imagined a year ago the number of restrictions that are in place for worship this Christmas?
I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you who have provided a “song” with new and creative means. I refer you to the national AGO website (agohq.org) for a compilation of organ and choral concerts of the season. Members of our chapter have been recording seasonal music for “The Twelve Days of Christmas” project available beginning December 26 on our Youtube channel. In January we begin the process of nominating officers for the 2021-2022 program year. We will have several vacancies to fill including the treasurer position. I thank Gary Huffman for his many years of service in this position. Gary, you are appreciated!
We have several events in January including a student recital at Blessed Sacrament on Sunday, January 10, and a ZOOM instructional from Michael Bauer on Saturday, January 23. May the coming year be one of peace and joy for each of you.
With warm regards,
