It’s hard to believe we have taken the “leap” into March! This program year is flying by, leaving us with just three events to celebrate the work of the Wichita Chapter.
This weekend, Sunday, March 6th, we celebrate the youth of our chapter. We have 13 students that will be auditioning for scholarship beginning at 1 PM. This will be followed by a “Reaching for the Stars” recital at 4 PM at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Many thanks to Anna Jeter and Carole Pracht for organizing the auditions and scheduling practice time.
Please be sure to attend the recital on Sunday. We have nine young organists that will be performing. Performers are student members Dakota Bennett, Megan McCoy, Aidan Hill, Nicole Jimenez, Matthew Kroeker, Scotney Reichenberger, Maddie Shoup, Laura Smith, Katie Wolgast. They will be performing works by Bach, Handel, Ogden, Pachelbel, and Young. The organists are students of Anna Jeter, Marlene Hallstrom, Carole Pracht, and Shirley Wiebe.
Also, don’t forget Lynne Davis’ “Wednesday’s in Wiedemann.” Tomorrow she will continue with “Theme and Variations,” featuring works of Sweelinck, Alain, and Bach. March 2, 5:15-45 on the Great Marcussen Organ at Wichita State University.
Keep supporting the work of our friends and colleagues! And always, invite a friend to attend with you!
