June Update

June Update

As I sit here to write this newsletter, while finishing up other AGO tasks, I can’t help but be excited for the upcoming Pipe Organ Encounter events and the Wichita Chapter. I’ve had the opportunity to put together the Program Booklet for the POE. The events planned, the workshops, and the concerts are must hear events. There is something almost every night and multiple events during the day. See Marlene Hallstrom’s letter later in the newsletter to see how you can help and check out the event flier.

It’s time to vote for next year’s Executive Board! Chapter Members will be receiving an email from Carolyn Chambers, Secretary, with a ballot. You can simply fill it out and email it back to her, print it out and bring it to the June 18th event, or call in your ballot. Voting closes at the June 18th gathering where the votes are counted and the Board is appointed.

You have an opportunity to join us to celebrate the POE and the 2014-2015 Program Year at our End-of-the-Year Event – June 18th, 6:30 PM, Church of the Brethren, 1103 Jefferson. The board will provide fried chicken and the POE Board will put together an Ice Cream Sunday Bar, so we just need you to bring a side dish.  We are planning for 30+ additional attendees from the POE (students and teachers), so be sure to prepare extra food. Carolyn Chambers will be contacting you soon regarding food, but plan to attend and bring lots of food!

Most of us have received emails about renewing our membership from the OnCard system. After using it for one year, National AGO has made a few tweeks to help in this online process. Be sure to take advantage of this easy process as soon as possible.  Reminder that you do have the ability to print it out if you need to submit it through your church. If you need any help with renewal, be sure to contact Gary Huffman.

While you are enjoying these wonderful days of early June, be sure to think about the POE – attending events and offering your help. This WILL be a great success, but we need your help!

Christopher Shaw, Dean
